If this sounds familiar

Your day ended hours ago. Your body didn't get the message.

You lie down and the list starts up again. Your jaw stays tight. Your shoulders sit somewhere up near your ears. You're tired in a way that a good night's sleep doesn't quite seem to reach.

I hear some version of this almost every week in my practice. People who are coping well by every outside measure, who honestly can't remember the last time their body felt off duty.

This evening is a small, gentle way back towards that feeling.

For one hour, nothing is expected of you. You lie down, and I'll guide you the rest of the way.

The hour

Settle first. Then sink.

We'll each lie down on our own mat in my clinic room, and move slowly through two parts, with a quiet close for anyone who'd like it.

01

Arriving in the body

Nervous system practice · about 5 minutes

We begin with slow, simple practices that help your body register that it's safe to slow down. Easy breath and small movements, with plenty of time to notice how you actually feel. Nothing strenuous, and nothing to get right.

02

Restorative Yoga Nidra

Guided deep rest · about 45-50 minutes

Then you lie back, cover up, and I guide you down through the five koshas, the layers of self described in the yogic tradition, from body and breath into the quieter places underneath.

People often describe Nidra as the space between waking and sleep. Some drift off along the way. That's welcome too.

03

The Quiet Page

Optional · about 5 minutes

We come back slowly, eyes open, feet on the floor. If you'd like, there's time to write down whatever surfaced. You're just as welcome to sit quietly, or to head home gently. Whatever you choose is fine.

This evening is for you if

You've been holding it all, quietly

  • You're managing well, and underneath it you're tired. Your body feels like it's always slightly switched on.
  • Sleep comes, but rest doesn't. You wake up already braced for the day.
  • You're curious about Yoga Nidra, or you've loved it before and you've missed it.
  • You'd like to experience my work in a small, low-pressure way before deciding on anything more.

Everyone is welcome, women and men alike. No experience needed, and no flexibility either. You'll mostly be lying down.

What people say afterwards

Kristina Smith · Motivational Speaking Coach
My experience with Mona’s Nidra session was very restorative. I was able to completely relax and go into a deep sleep while allowing my subconscious to follow her guidance. After practice I experienced deep relaxation, a feeling of calmness, and was able to let go of the need to rush around and do anything. Very peaceful. The part that resonated with me most was that Dr. Mona explained everything I would need to have a successful experience: a comfortable resting place, water, a journal, and an eye mask to block out sunlight. I enjoyed a beautiful rejuvenation session and very highly recommend Dr. Ali’s Nidra and Restorative classes. Thank you, Mona.
Abeer Khozami · Financial Advisor
This was beautifully restful and calming. What stood out for me is Dr. Mona’s skill level. She has a very calming energy that puts you at ease and ready to receive the practice with no effort. The class was very restorative, and I look forward to joining more of her classes. Strongly recommend especially if you are new to Nidra, like me, and crave deep rest beyond what regular sleep could provide.

Questions people ask me

I've never done Yoga Nidra. Will I know what to do?

Yes. There's nothing to learn in advance. You lie down, get comfortable and follow my voice. I'll explain each part before we begin, and there's no way to do it wrong.

What if I fall asleep?

Then your body took what it needed. Plenty of people drift in and out, especially the first time. I'll guide everyone gently back at the end, so you won't be left behind.

Will I have to talk or share anything?

No. You can stay completely quiet for the whole hour. The Quiet Page at the end is optional, and nobody will ask what you wrote.

Can I move, adjust or open my eyes?

Any time you like. You stay aware and in charge of your own body throughout. If something doesn't feel right, you can open your eyes, look around the room, sit up, or simply rest until we finish.

Is there anyone this isn't suitable for?

Yoga Nidra is very gentle and suits most people. If you're pregnant, living with a seizure disorder, or experiencing significant mental health symptoms such as dissociation, please write to me before booking so we can talk it through together.

This evening is a wellness practice. It isn't psychotherapy or medical treatment, and it isn't a substitute for either.

What should I bring?

Please bring your own yoga mat, a blanket, and a cushion or pillow for your head. Wear something loose and warm, and bring an extra layer and socks. Bodies cool down quite a bit during deep rest. A water bottle and a journal for the Quiet Page are welcome too.

What if I can't make it?

Life happens, and we understand. Places aren’t refundable, but your place is never wasted. You’re welcome to pass it to a friend, or someone else who’d love to come.

Just email me before the evening at [email protected], with your friend’s name if they’re taking your place.

Bring your tiredness with you.

We'll start from there.
